Get on the fast track to learning about being an abolitionist against trafficking and impacting change in our State. The topic may not be in the news as often as it should. Journalist are not pursuing it as they could. Citizentry is not shouting about it as we would especially if it touched close to home. Nonethless, the topic of human trafficking continues to be a very real threat in the lives of all citizens of the state of Michigan as well as the world. Populations of vulnerable people are being mistreated daily and it is imperative that we who are informed of this heinous crime are on our posts shouting from the rooftop that trafficking in person is consuming and damaging lives of men, women, and children around the globe. We must not grow weary in our endeavor to raise awareness or educate our youth on the slippery means and methods of men and women who are daily recruiting if not kidnapping unsuspecting people for their fifthy means. If I could sound the trumpet battle cry, WAKE UP! THE ENEMY IS ALREADY AT THE GATES OF OUR STATE! So get involved, join us in the fight, become enraged, informed and enlightened to safeguard all our youth and other targeted groups. Consider Michigan Rescue and Restore Coalition as a beginning, write to the local newspapers, call a journalist, blog on the subject, remind our legislators too.
Just want to share a brief insight, I am so angry at the lack of outrage about trafficking in the state of Michigan. I am so involved in this topic and I am speaking to everyone who will listen that, unless we all get involved our children and teens as well as college students will become victims to the crime of trafficking. I call on school administrators, non-profit organizations who work with youth, churches and others to call upon the experts in this arena to speak to our youth. They are vulnerable! What they think they know they are only a clog in the wheel of deception. Come on parents and educators lets show true compassion and save our youth! I am doing my part, where are You!
Lansing, MI-- There are individuals after attending MIRRC first human trafficking conference in Lansing ready to help the state eliminate and eradicate slavery in the form of human trafficking. There are people who have had their conscience awaken to this criminal enterprise and are willing to step out to be the voice of hope, help and healing.
From April 13 workshops by some great presenters and frontline warriors to the outstanding speakers on April 14th, the reality of trafficking the crime toward individuals, the violation of human dignity you cannot leave without understanding this was a serious social justice issue that could no longer be ignored! No longer as a state can we turn our heads or stick them in the sand but we must be open to the cries of the voiceless for help. Thanks to Dr. Larry Carter, president of Great Lakes Christian College for hosting this call to justice and freedom on his campus. Congratulations to MIRRC for their first conference, thanks to the workshop presenters you were phenomenal, Andy Sopher, Professor Christopher Johnson, Dr. Sabrina Black, Laminda & Denise Uhbayawana, Nikki Jackson and Pamela Hudson. Much Gratitude to Richard Sands, Dr. Robert Hagerty and York Moore. Everyone in attendance will never be the same. From now on they are equipped to combat 21st century slavery head-on. Join the journey to proclaim liberty to captives, to restore lives and bring wholistic healing to those who are rescued. If not you, who? If not now, when? Pamela J. Hudson, Project Director Michigan Rescue and Restore Coalition Wow! The information shared at the Michigan Rescue and Restore Conferece in Lansing was great! I wish so many others could have heard the truth of this matter which will compel you to do something to stop this form of slavery. The highlight for me was York Moore who was amazing with the way he shared "The Epic Quest." His enigmatic voice for this generation stirred the attendees to want to be part of the answer to awaken others to not put their heads in the sand. I value the opportunity and appreciate there is some organization out there doing something for the state.
MEC-Detroit Michigan Rescue and Restore Coalition held their first conference on the campus of Great Lakes Christian College in Lansing, Michiganl With workshops addressing runaways by Andy Sopher to the children who we need to safeguard by Dr. Sabrina Black and Nikki Jackson. This was a well put together conference which should have been sold out.
Attendees were given knowledge to become informaed and insightful to help prevent our citizens from being a victim. The conference had dynamic speakers who held your attention. The compassion of each speaker could be discerned by each one. Powerful and poignantly delivered. I applaud the Coalition for being on the front line and being a hop |
